Want more to see near the Bells Beach? Drive 23 km along the Great Ocean Road towards Aireys Inlet, you will find the Split Point Lighthouse. It is a must-see attraction and stands as a stunning sentinel on the surf coast. The Split Point Lighthouse was built in 1891. It still lights every evening to keep ships passing safely on their way to and from Port Phillip Bay, off the rocky shores. Take a trip through maritime history and be amazed by this wild and dangerous coastline where hundreds of ships have crashed.
Look below the lighthouse into the ocean, you will see the spectacular rock formation called Eagle Rock. It is a tall volcanic stack capped by limestone.
How to get there?
Bells beach is approximately an hour drive from Melbourne. To get to the beach, travel along the Great Ocean Road past Jan Juc, turn left into Bells Boulevard and follow the signs.

Where to eat?
There are several excellent restaurants and cafes in nearby town of Jan Juc. I would recommend the Bird Rock Café. Don’t forget to have mouth-watering desert at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery.
